Modified Parametric And Semi-Parametric Sample Selection Models : A Fuzzy Approach
(Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, 2012-07) Yaya Sudarya Triana
Sample selection models or selectivity models are often used to analyse structural and evaluation studies. Everywhere, individuals who are selected into one group, will likely be different from the characteristics of individuals in other groups. This selection problem is the core problem that must be considered. As this selection process occurs, this is a very important factor to be observed. Ignoring the non- random selection will lead to selection bias, either on the basis of observed or unobservable characteristics which will be the focus of this study. Sample selection models have been widely used in various fields since the introduction of a two step estimator called Heckmanโ€™s Two Step Estimator. However, this model is only concern on the participant, either in parametric, semi- parametric and non-parametric sample selection models. Hence, in this study, parametric and semi-parametric sample selection models are proposed. Instead of the participant as in previous models, the proposed models focus on non-participant for both parametric and semi-parametric of sample selection models.

The analysis of nonlinear dynamical systems with applications to ecological, biological neural networks, and chaotic electrical oscillators [electronic resource]
(Terengganu: Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, 2012-07) Sanjaya WS, Mada
Non-Linear dynamical systems are ubiquitous in science and engineering, since they allow developing and understanding models of complex systems and phenomena. In this thesis the complex behavior of ecological, biological neural networks, and chaotic electrical oscillator systems and its application for secure communication has been investigated.

Pemodelan dan perbandingan di antara model regresi poisson dan model regresi poisson sifar-melambung terhadap penyakit Thalassemia di kalangan kanak-kanak
(Terengganu: Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, 2013) Nur Syabiha Zafakali

Mathematical models of tumor growth with immunotherapy and chemotherapy
(Terengganu: Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, 2010-08) Nugraha, Edwin Setiawan
Immunotherapy is a relatively new cancer treatment currently being investigated intensively. The goal of the treatment is to strengthen the body's own natural ability to combat cancer by enhancing the effectiveness of the immune system. Immunotherapy is divided into three groups: immune response modifier, monoclonal antibody and cancer vaccines.

Decision support system using fuzzy linear programming approach for diet management
(Terengganu: Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, 2012-09) Siti Kamila Deraman
Diet problem is one of the problems related to Linear Programming (LP). However, for the previous research, most of the problems that involve the vague parameters are solved using Fuzzy Linear Programming (FLP) instead of LP. The diet problem for this research involves vague parameter. Because of that, it is solved using the FLP approach. LP is only used as a fundamental theory for the diet problem. Most of the diet problem leads people to some health problem especially obesity and overweight.

Numerical method on the synchronized dynamics of hindmarsh-rose neurons model
(Terengganu: Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, 2013-04) Kurniawan, Putra Wira
Neuron modeling is one of the interesting fields in Neuroscience. The modeling takes a part in prediction and simulation before making an experiment. The neuron modeling system has been developed many years. The main aim is to show the physical meaning in the neuron during the propagation of the impulse. Scientists use many methods to prove the physical meaning in the neuron.

Cultured marine fungi isolated from sponges for the production of bioactive compounds
(Terengganu: Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, 2013) Nuraidah Mohamad Ali
Various metabolites are known to be produced by sponges and their associated microorganisms where many clinically active compounds were produced by fungi associated with sponges rather than bacteria associated with sponges. ln this study, the potential of marine fungi isolated from sponges to produce bioactive compounds were investigated and characterized. Sponges were collected from Bidong and Karah Island, Terengganu and the fungi were isolated using Potato Dextrose Agar Seawater (PDASW), Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) and Natural Seawater Agar (NSWA).

Fouling control of ultrafiltration membrane via surface modification using myoglobin as the surface modifier agent
(Terengganu: Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, 2012-02) Saidatul Syaima Mat Tari
The phenomenon of membrane fouling is believed to be caused mainly by the hydrophobic characteristics of most membranes fabricating polymers. Consequently, many modification techniques have been developed to render the membrane surface with hydrophilic properties. With this property, membrane is expected to be more resistant to foulant adsorption; therefore fouling occurrence could be regulated thoroughly.

Theoretical studies on the anticancer agents from selected marine natural products
(Terengganu: Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, 2013-10) Nurul Fariha Yusof
The aim of the present study is to find the molecular descriptors responsible for the variety of anticancer activities. In this study, fifty marine natural products molecules, those had confirmed to show anticancer activities experimentally, were selected to be evaluated their physical parameters using quantum mechanical software package Gaussian 09 at the theoretical level of B3LYP/DFT 6-310 (d,p). The outputs of this program such as SCF Energy, molecular orbital energies (LUMO, HOMO, energy band gap), dipole moment and thermodynamics properties (enthalpy, entropy, and free-energy of formation, ZPVE) along with other predictors ยท(molecular mass, number of selected atoms, number of aromatic and number of non-aromatic rings) were then statistically analyzed using statistical software package of SPSS version 20.0 by employing the principle component analysis procedure; taking only into consideration all the factor-loading of greater than 0.30.

A framework to integrate game engine in the learning management system
(Terengganu: Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, 2010-05) Wan Mohd Amir Fazamin Wan Hamzah
Educational computer games (ECGs) present an appealing environment that engage students in activities which deliver substantive educational content. It can aid the development of proficiency by allowing users to interact with objects and manipulate variables. The medium of ECGs provides an opportunity for instructors to introduce educational and playful elements into learning environment. Currently, many ECGs are created using game engines. They usually offer a suite of visual development tools and reusable software components. These tools are generally provided in an integrated development environment to enable simplified, rapid development of games in the data-driven manner.

Model gabungan regresi berpemberat secara geografi
(Terengganu: Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, 2012-01) Nor Hazliza Asngari
