Kajian ini adalah bertujuan untuk melihat faktor-faktor yang dominan lagi bermakna dalam tingkahlaku berkomunikasi, kemahiran generik dan pembelajaran kolaboratif mengikut dimensi pelajar iaitu bangsa, jantina, aliran dan CGPA di institusi pengajian tinggi awam di Semenanjung Malaysia. Sampel seramai 659 para pelajar dari 4 buah universiti dan 1 kolej universiti telah dipilih untuk tujuan kajian.

Tren peningkatan bilangan warga tua dan penurunan golongan muda yang berusia kurang dari 14 tahun di Malaysia telah dikesan semenjak tahun 1970-an lagi. Faktor ini adalah berkaitan dengan kejayaan usaha untuk merancang keluarga iaitu menurunkan kadar kelahiran dan juga faktor kesihatan yang lebih baik yang meningkatkan jangka hayat penduduk. Apabila berlaku proses penuaan (akibat ramai penduduk yang semakin tua) dan kadar kelahiran bayi semakin berkurangan, bermakna banyak isu yang perlu dihadapi oleh institusi-istitusi,ekonomi, sosial, politik dan individu. Menjelang tahun 2020 ledakan warga tua akan terjadi di Malaysia dan dijangka meningkat menjadi 3.2 juta orang. Sehubungan dengan ini, kualiti hidup warga tua telah menjadi satu topik yang penting dalam pembangunan ekonomi negara.

Malaysia’s Quality of Life (QOL) report defines QOL as an encompassing personal advancement, a healthy lifestyle, access and freedom to pursue knowledge and attaining a standard of living. Study on QOL is gaining interest from a variety of discipline and becoming an important indicator for policy evaluation, rating for places, urban planning and management.
Aspek israiliyyat dalam kisah Nabi Sulaiman A.S berdasarkan tafsiran Al-Quran

Kajian mi bertujuan untuk memelihara ketulenan kisah Nabi Sulaiman A S danpada pengaruh unsur israiliyyat yang mencemarkan kesucian kisah baginda. Kajian mi menampilkan riwayat hidup Nabi Sulaiman A S yang berpandukan kepada Al-Qur'an. Sunnah dan kitab-kitab yang muktabar serta bebas daripada belenggu unsur isralliyyat. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam kajian ini ialah pendekatan kajian kepustakaan dan temubual. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa terdapat riwayat isralliyyat telah terserap dalam kisah Nabi Sulaiman A S yang perlu diberi perhatian bagi menjaga ketulenan kisah baginda seperti isralliyyat dan aspek penambahan cerita, isralliyyat dalam pengkhususan nama dan tempat. isralliyyat yang melampaui keperibadian seorang nabi, serta aspek isralliyyat dalam penulisan moden Selain itu, kajian ini turut mengenalpasti beberapa faktor yang menyumbang kepada tersebarnya riwayat isralliyyat. antaranya penerbitan buku yang bermatlamatkan keuntungan tanpa pengawalan pihak berwajib tehadap isi kandungannya.
Bid'ah dalalah dalam kalangan masyarakat melayu di Terengganu

Perbahasan mengenai bid'ah telah berlangsung sekian lama. Kesungguhan perbahasan berdasarkan sabda Rasulullah (SAW) yang bermaksud: "Semua bid'ah adalah sesat". Sabda umum seperti ini telah membuka ruang bagi golongan ulamak semenjak dahulu lagi untuk menghuraikan intipati sebenar sabda tersebut. Sesetengah masyarakat memandang mudah, manakala sebahagian lagi amat menitik berat tentang persoalan ini. Kajian ini dilakukan bagi meninjau tentang perbahasan ulamak berkaitan bid'ah yang membawa kesesatan tanpa sebarang kekhilafan. Di samping itu, persepsi masyarakat terhadap persoalan bid'ah juqa turut diutarakan.

The continuing evolution of promissory estoppel

In this research, three phases in the continuing evolution of promissory estoppel are examined. Promissory estoppel is an English equitable doctrine originally meant to prevent injustice by the action of a contracting party in going back from his promise not to enforce his contractual right that had initially led the other party to act to his detriment. First, the historical evolution of this doctrine is outlined. Secondly, its present parameters in three common law countries - England, Australia and Malaysia - are examined due to the continuing development in these countries affecting the traditional limitations of this doctrine. The third focus of this study is the possibility of incorporating this doctrine into the present Malaysian legislation in order to facilitate its easier application.
Determinants of credit risk in Malaysian Islamic banks

Credit risk is the oldest form of risk in the financial markets and has been receiving great attention mainly in the banking institutions. According to the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (2000), credit risk continues to be the leading source of problems in banking institutions all over the world. In the context of Malaysia, Central Bank of Malaysia (2001) had announced that credit risk continues to remain the largest source of risk for banking institutions in Malaysia due to the fact that a banking institution's financing portfolio is typically the largest asset and the major source of revenue.

This research focuses on the role of money, the development of money and banking and monetary reform. The research demonstrates that the migration of the medium of exchange from gold and silver into a legal tender involving flat paper notes and bank deposits backed by debt, reflects a reduction of intrinsic value, even though the token value of fiat money is still considered as equivalent in value to the intrinsic value of historical coinage: money has developed from physical gold and silver into virtual payments.

The main focus of this research is looking into the competency problem as shown in conceptual framework. The research area is confined to East Coast Region which cover on nine local authorities, are selected as the sample population. Besides that, this study is also look into three main objectives: firstly is to analyze the various demographic profiles to local authorities’ employees’ competency and age in relation to competency. In addition to that a recommendation is made based on research finding which is related to organizational culture as suggested from a group of INTAN strategic planning and management study for Marang District Council. On top of that a suggestion is put forward for future research as to enhance the competency through other independent variable.
Electrical, optical and ionic transport study of chitosan-adipic acid proton conducting polymer electrolyte

A proton conducting polymer electrolyte film is presented in this work. The proton conducting polymer electrolytes presented in this thesis consist of chitosan (CA) as polymer host and adipic acid (AA). The sample was prepared by using the solution cast technique. AA is a weak dicarboxylic acid and used as the proton donor. The salt was varied between 10 and 45 wt.% in the preparation of the polymer electrolytes. The highest conductivity obtained was 1.4 x 10"9 Scm"1 for sample containing 35 wt.% of AA at room temperature.
Factors influencing the achievement in mathematics of malay secondary school students

The present situation of many secondary school students having difficulty in learning mathematics needs to be thoroughly investigated. Various factors need to be studied in order to determine why these students failed to perform satisfactorily in mathematics. For this research, a group of three hundred secondary school students were studied in order to determine the influence of students' internal characteristics on achievements in mathematics. This research focused on the following seven internal characteristics: Attitudes towards mathematics, mathematics anxiety, motivation to study mathematics, personality and behavioural characteristics, cognitive readiness, learning strategies, and learning styles.
Faktor penentu motivasi kerja juruaudit di firma audit pantai timur Semenanjung Malaysia

Kualiti kerja juruaudit yang tidak bermutu telah menyebabkan berlakunya salah laku dan skandal kewangan dunia seperti Enron, Waste Management, Global Crossing, Health South dan AIG. Suasana ini telah menyebabkan keraguan tentang motivasi kerja di kalangan juruaudit berasaskan unsur kebebasan di dalam bidang pengauditan. Objektif-objektif kajian ini adalah merujuk kepada pengaruh faktor-faktor ganjaran, tekanan kerja dan komunikasi terhadap kakitangan di firma audit di Pantai Timur Semenanjung Malaysia, dan impak organisasi berasaskan konsep gaya kepimpinan Path-Goal Model of Leadership (House, 1971), terhadap motivasi kerja di firma audit. Kajian berbentuk ex-post facto melibatkan sejumlah 164 orang juruaudit di firma audit di Pantai Timur Semenanjung Malaysia, iaitu negeri Kelantan, Terengganu dan Pahang. Sampel telah dipilih sebagai responden kajian dengan menggunakan kaedah persampelan multi-stage. Perisian SPSS versi 15.0 telah digunakan untuk menganalisis data dan perisian Amos 7.0 digunakan untuk membina model-modelpengukuran bagi menilai kesahan konvergen dan diskriminan faktor penentu kajian dan motivasi kerjajuruaudit.
