Item APPLICATION OF BALANCED SCORECARD AND IMPROVING TRANSPARENCY OF ZAKAT INSTITUTIONS SYSTEM(Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, 2016-04) NURUL NURHIDAYATIE BINTI MUHAMAD ALI; School of Maritime Business and ManagementIt is crucial for any organization to measure its performance regardless whether it is a profit or a non-profit organization. Although a non-profit organization gets less pressure from its management board to show its value to the stakeholders, there is still a need to demonstrate the extent to which it is achieving its mission. Thus, it is also crucial for zakat institutions, as a non-profit institution to use performance measurement in order to have control over its performance and to focus its work towards achieving its goals and mission. In fact, the huge responsibility holds by zakat institutions in their religious activities of managing zakat collection adds to the pressure in providing sufficient information to the stakeholders. Thus, the first objective of this study is to investigate the adequacy of transparent reporting by zakat institutions.Item THE EFFECT OF ENTREPRENEURIAL ORIENTATION, ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING AND INNOVATION PERFORMANCE ON SMES FIRM PERFORMANCE IN ALGERIA(Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, 2016-03) ROCHDI DEBILI; School of Maritime Business and ManagementAlgerian SMEs play an important role in economic development and income growth. However, increasing business competition has placed SMEs in a vulnerable position due to their limited resources. Undoubtedly, their success in responding to the challenges of the business environment depends, in great part, on their strategy for engaging in entrepreneurial behaviors. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of organizational learning (OL) and Innovation performance (IP) on the relationships between Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) and the firm performance (FP). However, this study contributed to the entrepreneurial orientation (EO)–performance literature by offering a wider picture that includes two intermediate steps: organizational learning (OL) and innovation performance. This study also provided an explanation of firm performance differences by focusing on EO. Due to the acknowledged importance of OL as a critical variable for strategy implementation, this study integrated many theories such as the contingency theory and resource-based view theory and get inspired by the congruence model to study the effect of organizational learning (OL) on successful strategy implementation. This quantitative study presents and discusses empirical findings from a survey of a total of 500 owner/managers of SMEs in Algeria, 258 questionnaires were returned giving a response rate of 51.6 percent, which is relatively good. In fact, this study followed a rigorous process to establish the construct validity of the measure by employing EFA as well as CFA using both SPSS and PLS- SEM.Item Islamic Attributes Of Destination For Muslim Tourists’ Loyalty Intention In Malaysia(Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, 2017-04) Siti Aishah Ismail; School of Maritime Business and ManagementIslamic tourism in Malaysia grows year by year. The demand for Islamic tourism products has indeed increased, parallel with the increasing number of Muslim tourists to Malaysia and the increasing number of hotels that provide Islamic tourism products in recent years. Although the concept of Islamic tourism is gaining popularity, there are still matters unexplored especially pertinent to the attributes, which drive tourists to Islamic tourism destination. The objectives of this study are (i) to identify the influence of Islamic attributes of destination (IAD) on loyalty intention, (ii) to identify the influence of IAD on tourists’ satisfaction, (iii) to identify the influence of tourists’ satisfaction on loyalty intention, (iv) to investigate the role of tourists’ satisfaction as a mediator between IAD and loyalty intention and (v) to investigate the role of religious commitment as a moderator between IAD and loyalty intention.
