In this work, LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 has been synthesized by using acetate and carbonate precursors, respectively and ball-milled with citric acid, followed by heat treatment at high temperature. The structure, morphology and electrochemical performances of all samples were investigated using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, and galvanostatic testing. The high crystallinity and small particle size are affected by the homogeneity of the samples with the presence of citric acid. It was shown that the electrochemical performances of LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 prepared from acetate precursor exhibit the highest discharge capacity of 120 mAh g-1 at 1 C rate.en_US
