The intensive use of synthetic herbicide has been the cause for the evolution of herbicide-resistant weeds, besides having a serious threat to human health and the environment. The need for new and more environmental friendly herbicides becomes obvious to solve the dilemma of the continued demand for herbicides. Hence, this study was conducted to examine the herbicidal activity of compounds isolated and identified from Pennisetum purpureum as well as to elucidate its mechanism of action.en_US
