dc.description.abstractThis research project is about the Halal food onboard ships and its availability amongst Malaysian ships. This study will be discussing and focusing on the knowledge of seafarers about Halal food onboard ships and the availability of Halal foods. onboard Malaysian ships. The religions, nationality of seafarers and nationality of the companies are among those criteria used to evaluate and identify the two objectives of this research. For the purpose of this research, a few readings of journals, articles and statistics plus the survey questionnaire have been done to obtain the required data and information to relates between Malaysian seafarers with the knowledge of Halal and non-Halal foods and the availability of such foods amongst Malaysian ships. This research resulted in the findings that many of Malaysian seafarers do have high knowledge about Halal foods. Besides that, the findings lead to the fact that, none of Malaysian ship provides non-Halal foods as daily meals. The conclusion is that both objective were partly met even though the result is very close, because further research needs to be done in order to obtained more accurate results.en_US
