Michelle Rita Grech et al wrote in 'Human Factors in Maritime Domain' that there is growing realization within the maritime community that the consideration of human factors issues is vital. Contrary to the aviation domain, however, very little research and documentation has been published on human factors in maritime domain. Thus, the significance of this paperwork will help this vital asset in industry that is human factor that is very demanding. This paperwork entitled 'A case study of perception of seafaring jobs among secondary school students in Kuala Terengganu' is made in conjunction to the hypothesis whether the shortage of seafarer worldwide is correct. To measure the scope of study, it is also put into the consideration the regional trends and divisions between senior officers, junior officers and ratings, and measures to improve the recruitment in the traditional maritime areas. This paper helps the school students to have a further understanding about the career in maritime field and helps to clear up their misconception about the wrong information regarding career onboard ships. vi |
