In Malaysia, the ship construction industry has been recognized as one of the driving factors of economic development. However, the industry in Malaysia itself is not without its negativity, this due to its high rates of accident and fatalities incidence that have occurred on sites. This study will discuss the relationship between the occupational accident and the Occupational Safety and Health regulation. The aims of this study is to evaluate the implementation of OSHA in shipyard industry, to determine the major factor that contribute to an accident and lastly to assess relationships between the occupational accident and implementation of Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA). The studies were conducted at ship construction site in Kuala Terengganu. The methodology involves data collection, interview with the safety officer and survey instrument. Data was analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and Microsoft Excel include descriptive statistic, frequency and percentage. At the end of the thesis, a relationship between occupation accident and OSHA implementation was highlighted and recommendations are given as a summary of this research. This will be useful by ship construction companies in improving their safety climate at site.en_US
