The study on fish diversity was conducted at Mengabang Telipot swamp during pre-monsoon season from September to November 2006. There is a significant change on the swamp ecosystem due to increasing water level, salinity, temperature decrease and structure changing. A number of 96 individual consist 11 species were found in the study sites. Family of Mugilidae dominated that area meanwhile family of Carangidae was a rarest in that area. Marine fishes such as Liza subviridis and also estuarine fishes such as Trichogaster trichopterus were the most dominant species can be found here. Other rare species is Glossogobius sp. The diversity of fishes at Mengabang Telipot swamp did not show big different among species. But the distribution of species were depend on sampling location, and day night cycle.en_US
