Abstract: The Orang Asli remains as a stereotyped group which has been isolated from the mainstream society. The problem occurred due to their placement in interior areas. For the Orang Asli, that particular location is an extra point for them because they can access a variety of forest resources. Meanwhile, traders see this as their opportunity to make money by exploiting the Orang Asli. With an awareness of the matter, a study had been conducted to describe the extent of exploitation and how the Orang Asli manage and develop strategies in response to the exploitation. To explore the issue, this study was performed on the Orang Asli tribes in the village of Kuntai in Perak, using qualitative approach and ethnographic design. Datawas collected through two methods, which were non-participant observation and in-depth interviews. The data were coordinated by using QSR NVivo computer software. The findings were extracted using narrative techniques. The findings indicate the act of exploitation by the traders. The study also provides ways to manage and create strategies when dealing with the exploitation of the Orang Asli.
