Abstract: This paper reports for the first time the catalytic dry (CO2) reforming of methane over 20 wt%Co/80 wt% Nd2O3 catalyst. The catalyst was synthesized by wet-impregnation procedure and its physicochemical properties were characterized by TGA, XRD, FESEM, EDX, FTIR, H2-TPR and TPD followed by activity testing in a fixed-bed reactor. The effects of feed ratios (CH4: CO2) ranged 0.1e1.0, reactant (CH4 and CO2) partial pressure (0e50 kPa) and temperature ranged 923e1023 K on the activity of the catalyst were investigated. The conversion of both reactants increased with the feed ratio and reaction temperature reaching maximumvalues of 62.7% and 82% for CH4 and CO2, respectively.
