Plasma and mucosal vitellogenin in the red arowana (Scleropages formosus)

Abstract

Arowana is an important ornamental fish species and they are perhaps one of the most expensive tropical fish in the world. Sex identification is still a major issue in the arowana farming industry because they lack phenotypic sign of sexual dimorphism throughout their life span which hinders sex selection during culture.
