Abstract: A novel crystalline nanostructured Mn3O4 was successfully synthesized using basic molten salt technique at 300°C, with a commercial MnCl2·2H2O as structuring agent. The formation, structure and morphology of Mn3O4 nanopowder were confirmed by thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDS). The TGA result revealed that the composite is formed at a low temperature of 300°C. The synthesized composite structure is a mixture of tetragonal (Mn3O4) and orthorhombic (MnO2) phases.
