dc.description.abstractThe research is about the influences of modernization and social capital on Terengganu coastal fishermen's community empowerment. This research consists of five objectives, in which the first until the fourth objectives are about identifying the differences in the level of education and the level of income to social capital, capacity building, capacity building of social capital and community empowerment. While the fifth objective is to form a model of fishermen community empowennent in Terengganu based on social capital, capacity building and capacity building of social capital. This study used a survey on 220 coastal fishermen in the district of Kuala Terengganu and Besut. Respondents were selected based on multi-stage sampling using purposive sampling and systematic sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire and were analysed using descriptive statistics displayed by means and percentage. The research also used ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) test to analyse the data inference and used Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) to build the model.en_US
