Abstract:	Mahanimbine (MH) and girinimbine (GR) are two carbazole alkaloids isolated from a local plant species, Murraya koenigii of the Rutaceae family. Both compounds have been shown to have insecticidal, antimicrobial, antifungal and anticancer properties.
